Overview
India is rich in wildlife, and no animal is a more famous ambassador of Wild India than the mighty Tiger. Join us on this journey to explore Central India, India’s wild heart, and the Western Himalayan foothills to explore the home of the Tiger in search of this mighty king, as well as meet and photograph the various birds and animals that share its home, from Asiatic Elephants and Leopards to Long-tailed Broadbills and Great Hornbills. This tour takes you to some of India’s best wildlife destinations to give you that truly wild Indian experience.
Our tour begins at the Bandhavgarh National Park in Madhya Pradesh. Known for having the highest density of Tigers in India, sightings at Bandhavgarh are unlike any other park. We will make our stay at the Monsoon Forest Resort near the Tala range and take excursions to the nearby Rancho village to catch a glimpse of the unique culture of the Baiga and Gond tribes.
Next, we visit the picturesque town of Sattal. We will spend the day here looking for some of the rarest Himalayan species including the Chestnut-headed Tesia, Greater and Lesser Yellownape, Blue-throated Barbet, and Black Bulbul to name a few.
Next on our list is Pangot. Covered with Oak and Pine trees and interspersed with gurgling brooks, Pangot is the ideal destination for birding. Here we will spot many endemic and migratory birds including Cheer Pheasant, Slaty-backed and Spotted Forktail, Black-headed Jay, and Streaked Laughingthrush. We will make our stay at the Jungle Lore Birding Lodge from where we will take trekking excursions to explore the beautiful nature trails of Pangot.
Our final destination is Corbett National Park, the abode of the fabled Royal Bengal Tigers. Set against the backdrop of Nainital hills, Corbett rivals all others for the title of being the most beautiful national park in the country. Here, we will take wildlife safaris through the park to explore the unique wildlife of Uttarakhand.
