The magic of Jageshwar
I’ve never been a very spiritual or a very religious person. Traveling to a place just for spiritual wellness has never been something I would do.
However, one can’t deny that the town of Jageshwar and its surroundings have a certain energy that even the most skeptical mind cannot deny the feeling. Active with the sounds of prayers and pious rendition, Hindu temples in the Himalayas have their own distinct spiritual rhythm. The temples of Jageshwar, mostly devoted to Lord Shiva, radiate a calm yet powerful aura and coupled with the distinct rhythm and chanting, resonate deep in your mind and soul.
Every destination is an energy zone and has a different impact on life energies. Forest healing, mountain healing, and quantum healing are all beautiful methods to detox and destress, a perfect holiday not just for your body, but for your soul as well.
Surrounded by the beautiful deodar jungle, you can destress and recharge your mind with yoga, meditation & wellness programs in a serene ambiance. With a beautifully designed yoga and meditation room, Van Serai Lodge is the ideal place to find your inner peace. Homemade and delicious Satvik food will help cleanse your body from within, as yoga and meditation help you cleanse your mind.

How Shiva Walks Changed My Life
My husband was raised in a very religious family, and I am the complete opposite. This means that he often goes on pilgrimages with his parents, where I don’t accompany them. Thankfully, they have been understanding.
So, when a few months back, my husband suggested that we join the Shiva Walks at Jageshwar, I was a little surprised. He’s never asked me to accompany him before, and he knew I would not be interested at all. But he assured me that we’d get some sightseeing done as well, and frankly, I hadn’t gotten out of the city in a long time so I agreed.
What I found was really surprising. The overall tone of the tour wasn’t very religious at all. In fact, I could say it was more spiritual and more about connecting with your inner self, and the world than a traditional religious pilgrimage or outing. We played in the streams, meditated in the beautiful and quiet deodar forests, and much more. The yoga sessions at Van Serai were extremely liberating, actually lightening the mind. I was even initially sceptical about Satvik food, but it was so delicious that I loved it all the same.
I still may not be a very religious person, but I did come back from Jageshwar as a more spiritual person.
