There is no beating around the bush with this tour. As its name suggests, it gives you the opportunity to experience three iconic experiences in North India: birdwatching, safaris for leopard tracks, and the Taj Mahal. Perfectly designed to give you a well-rounded and fulfilling experience in less than a fortnight, this tour highlights some of the best destinations and experiences that North India has to offer.

Your adventure begins as you touch down in New Delhi. You will be met at the airport by our representative and transferred to the hotel. You have the evening free for sightseeing or shopping, or just to rest. You may ask us for tours (optional) covering various monument sites, museums, bird watching habitats, tourist market, food joints, theatre, performance venue etc.

After an early breakfast, we will check out and drive to Sultanpur National Park for a couple of hours of birding. A fantastic wetland habitat, Sultanpur is home to many migratory waterfowl and scrub forest birds. When combined with the nearby grassland patches, it is a very promising birding destination. In the afternoon, we will leave for Jaipur, where we will arrive in the evening.

Today, we have morning and evening safaris in Jhalana. Not only is Jhalana home to a dense population of leopards and deer, but is also an ideal birding destination, with species like Jacobin Cuckoo, Indian Pitta, Jungle Nightjar, and more calling it home.
In between the safaris, you will have plenty of free time to explore some of Jaipur’s monuments, which speak to the royal heritage of the city. Visitor attractions include palaces like the Hawa Mahal, Jal Mahal, and City Palace, the Amer, Nahargarh, and Jaigarh Forts, Jantar Mantar, as well as various temples.

Today, we have have our final safari in Jhalana to look for targets. We will return to our hotel at 0930hrs, and spend the rest of the day exploring the cultural side of Jaipur. In addition to the monuments, do check out some of the local handicrafts. The roads along the palaces are a great place to pick up some souvenirs of your visit.

After breakfast, we will check out and travel to Bharatpur. After arriving in Bharatpur, we will spend the afternoon birdwatching inside the Keoladeo National Park. One of the smallest national parks in the country at just 29 sq. km, Keoladeo National Park has a variety of habitats and is the winter home of over 350 species of birds, including Great White Pelican, Ruddy Shelduck, Eurasian Spoonbill, White-breasted Waterhen, Oriental Darter, Knob-billed Duck, Brown Hawk-Owl, Rufous Treepie, and many more.

We have a full day of birdwatching in Bharatpur today. Apart from a myriad of wetland and forest birds, Bharatpur also has an excellent variety of mammal species, such as Nilgai, Sambar and Spotted Deer, Wild Boar, and Golden Jackal.

After an early breakfast, we will proceed to the Chambal River at Dhaulpur for a boat safari, which will last about 2-3 hours. One of the cleanest rivers in India, the Chambal River is the best place to see the Gharial (or Fish-eating Crocodile), and also many wetland birds like Indian Skimmer, Black-bellied and River Terns, and more. Later, we will proceed to Agra, where we will have an afternoon guided tour of the Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays). The evening can be spent visiting the local markets and exploring the narrow streets of the city.
Apart from the Taj Mahal, Agra is also home to the massive Red Fort, which has been the seat of Mughal rulers for several years. Shikandra, the red sandstone mausoleum of Emperor Akbar, is also a popular monument.

After a sumptuous breakfast, we will check out from our hotel and proceed back to Delhi. We can then go straight to the Okhla Bird Sanctuary, where we can spend a half day birdwatching. You will be transferred to your hotel in the evening.
